Exercise is a proven and effective way to keep the body healthy and young looking. It makes the muscles strong, firm and resilient, which has a very good effect on skin health. Our face is also made up of muscles. And yes, we can work them out, too.

Facial exercise contributes to the redefining of the cheekbones, jaw lines and the nose. The papery skin present around the neck and under the eyes is alleviated in the process. And the lips become fuller. All these can be achieved at a lesser cost.

According to studies, frequent movement of at least 15 hours a day puts all the fifty-seven facial muscles to work, absorbing tensions and stress. These tense muscles inhibit the flow and circulation of the blood, derpiving them oxygen and nutrients. Exercise improves blood circulation, thus, more oxygen and nutrients reach the facial tissues, resulting to the replacement of the damaged and old cells with new ones. Exercising daily, at least five times a day, then, dramatically enhances facial skin health.

Exercise keeps the body healthy and even combats the effects of aging. It tones the body, making the muscles and skin firm and resilient. The facial muscles when exercised will also have the same result.

To have the most satisfying results, few things are needed to be kept in mind while undergoing the facial exercise program. Too much scrubbing on the face can do damage. Downward scrubbing motion is advised while cleansing the face. Leaning the head on the hand is also strongly discouraged as well as using straw while drinking and squinting too often. These may thwart the chances of you having a wrinkle-free skin.

Facial exercise is a risk-free and cost efficient way to fight wrinkles. Good dietary habits, like drinking lots of water and eating nutritious foods, along with proper skin care can greatly help in achieving skin you’ve always wanted.

The support of facial muscles plays a vital part on the appearance of ones skin. With the presence of wrinkles and loose skins on the neck and throat area, it makes one appear much older than he/she is supposed to look. That is why facial exercises designed for the neck and throat area was developed to help the muscles remain smooth and firm to show a much younger looking skin.

Here are some exercises specifically designed for the neck and throat area. These procedures involve sitting and lying positions often done when one wants to take a break from work or just simply relax.

1. Sit upright and tilt the head back looking at the ceiling. Keep the lips closed and then start a chewing movement. Feel the muscles working in the neck and throat area and be amazed of the results. Do the procedure for 20 times.

2.Sit upright and tilt head back looking at the ceiling. Keep lips closed and relaxed. Start puckering the lips together in a kiss and stretch the kiss as if one is trying to kiss the ceiling. Keep the lips puckered for 10 counts. Bring the head back to its normal position and make 5 sets of the procedure.

3.Sit upright with head tilt back looking at the ceiling. Keep lips closed and relaxed. Open the lips and stuck the tongue out as if one is trying to touch the chin with the tips of the tongue. Keep tongue out in this position for 10 counts. Return the tongue and head to its normal position.

4. Lie on the bed with head hanging down over the edge. Slowly bring up the head up towards the torso and keep it there until the count of ten. Relax and lower the head towards the floor again. Repeat the procedure 5 times.

5. Sit upright and move face forward. Keep the lips together. Separate the teeth by dropping the jaw and pushing the jaw forward until the count of 10. Bring back to the starting position and repeat the procedure 5 times.

The chin, neck and throat area is difficult to treat. But with regular facial exercise, a smoother and firmer neck plus a compact chin will make one look years younger.
